Support group for refugee women and girls
The peasants, goat meat and milk sellers, and charcoal workers who comprise this group approached us about the daily life of refugee women and their families, talking about their everyday tasks, their spaces, the difficulties they share, and the advantages of living in the camp. Women are in charge of almost everything that needs to be done in the camp, from their jobs to taking care of the family and the house; they have no free time or leisure time. They are in charge of obtaining and repairing the tools needed to do their work, managing the money, and supplying, feeding, and caring for the whole family with their own means.
In addition to the work site of the women's group in the UNHCR building, they proudly showed us the new spaces in the camp where they sell meat and milk.
